Company Description
Boa Safra Ag is a national agricultural services company that helps landowners harvest hidden tax deductions on their cropland and ranchland. We deliver actionable, research-backed reports and provide outstanding customer service. As a fully remote team, we support landowners across the U.S. with agility, transparency, and a deep respect for the business of farming.
Position Summary
As a Data Analytics Intern at Boa Safra Ag, you will help build the analytics layer the entire company runs on. You will work directly with the Systems & Analytics Lead and with department managers across soils, sales, contracts, and finance operations to turn raw data into the reports and dashboards that leadership uses to make decisions.
This is a hands-on role for an early-career individual who wants ownership rather than observation. The numbers you produce reach real customers and real business decisions, and you will see the results of your work in the room where those decisions get made.
Key Responsibilities
- - Management reporting: Build and maintain the recurring reports and dashboards that department leaders and executives rely on, and improve them as the business grows.
- Analysis of key business decisions: Investigate the questions that matter to leadership, from unit economics to operational throughput, and present findings that shape what the company does next.
- - Data platform development: Contribute to the company's data infrastructure, including pipelines, data models, and the reusable checks that keep our reporting trustworthy.
- Data integrity and quality assurance: Own accuracy. Validate incoming data, reconcile figures across systems, and catch problems before they reach a customer report.
- - Metric governance: Steward the company-wide KPI and definitions dictionary so that every team measures the business the same way.
- - Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with managers across departments to understand what they need, drive inputs and sign-offs to completion, and keep projects moving.
- - Documentation and enablement: Write the guides, procedures, and training materials that let other teams use what you build without you in the room.
- - Automation and process improvement: Identify manual work worth automating, then build the scripts and tools that eliminate it.
- - AI-assisted workflows: Use AI tools where they genuinely speed up analysis, documentation, and quality checks, with a working understanding of where they fail. Apply them within our data handling rules and verify every AI output before it reaches a deliverable.
Required Qualifications
- -A rising senior, a recent graduate, or a junior, working toward or holding a degree in business analytics, data science, finance, accounting, economics, statistics, agricultural business, information systems, or a related field.
- - Six months to one year of experience in a similar role, or in an analytics, consulting, business intelligence, or finance role. Internships and co-op placements count.
- - Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills, particularly Excel (lookup functions, SUMIFS, nested logic, pivot tables, and data validation), along with Word and PowerPoint.
- - Working knowledge of R or Python for data manipulation: reading large files, filtering and grouping, computing summary statistics, and exporting clean results.
- - Clear written English, with the judgment to write for managers and external audiences.
- - Precise, self-directed, and reliable in a fully remote environment, with the discipline to flag an issue rather than guess at it.
- - Legal authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the internship. We welcome applicants working under CPT, OPT, or any other form of U.S. work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
- - Exposure to a BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker Studio.
- - Basic SQL, or familiarity with data warehouse and data lake concepts.
- - Coursework or internship experience in accounting, tax, or FP&A.
- - Experience with CRM data, particularly Pipedrive.
- - Interest in or knowledge of agriculture, land, soil science, or agricultural economics.
- - Any prior work where you were personally accountable for a number someone else relied on.
